WHAT IS THREADS?

Threads is Gloria Dei’s clothing shelf - stocked with only gently used or new items. This is one of the many ways we show hospitality and welcome to everyone who comes through our doors.

At Gloria Dei we value others and are showing that we care about all and we want all who use this ministry to feel good about what they wear. Everything we receive in, is sorted, folded and nicely displayed. Everything is done through volunteer help and it shows in our space.

If you haven’t seen the space, it’s located in the lower level of Gloria Dei. Check it out when you have a chance. There are many ways to help this ministry too.

DONATIONS

  • Donate Laundry Detergent and personal hygiene items

  • Donate gently used clothes

  • Donate financially. Financial donations go towards laundry detergent, laundromat coins, racks and hangers for our space, storage bins and basic maintenance for the space.

If you are looking to purchase items to donate, feel free to purchase off of one of the wish lists below. These registries are up to date with what our most urgent needs are.

MOST URGENT NEEDS

With school starting all around us, we are in need of children’s clothes of all types and sizes.

If you have gently used or new children’s clothing, feel free to drop it off to Threads at Door 1 or at the welcome desk on Sunday morning.

ITEMS INCLUDE:

New underwear and sock for kids, (all ages and genders, infant - youth x-large)

Gym shoes for kids (all sizes boys and girls)

Boys shorts and pants (size 5t-18)

Girls Shorts and pants ( size 5t-18)

New underwear and socks for adults (All sizes and genders)

VOLUNTEER

Volunteer as this ministry continues to grow. If welcoming and sharing kindness with others is your passion, this is a great way to get connected with serving Gloria Dei.

  • Volunteer to help, sorting, keeping the space clean, and helping clients find clothing that fit.

  • Take the Threads Phone for a week and set up client visits on your own schedule.

  • Help maintain our registries and wishlist for donations.
