We are excited to announce a new Gloria Dei ministry focused on contemplative spirituality or, as some call it, mindfulness.  This selection of sessions will be guided by Gloria Dei’s Director of Contemplative Practices, Julie Stevens.  Julie is a contemplative small group prayer and retreat leader, and a graduate of Shalem Institute’s “Transforming Community: Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups and Retreats” program.

Gloria Dei is proud to offer this contemplative practices ministry for those who are looking to connect with their spiritual center.  Sessions will cover topics such as living more simply, calming the mind, and addressing daily obstacles that make it difficult to live in a balanced and centered way.  We will explore a variety of contemplative practices as thresholds to the Divine (recognizing that our understandings of the Divine are varied and incomplete).  Contemplative/mindfulness practices can help us as we seek to live whole and joyful lives.  They can awaken us to that which is most meaningful and sacred in life.

No previous experience or specific beliefs are necessary.  All sessions are free of charge and held at Gloria Dei, 1212 12th Ave. NW in Rochester.

We are eager to offer these new opportunities in the Rochester area.  If we can learn to live more centered lives, we can experience an abiding peace within ourselves that can then ripple outward to create a more compassionate world.

Take a moment to see what we have in store for the coming school year, and come to any of the following sessions to find your center!
