Community Camp with Gloria Dei
All Gloria Dei families, individuals, and kids are all invited to Community Camp at Good Earth Village. We will do all the fun stuff we have come to know and love about Community Camp - hikes, games, creek splashing, time for rest, conversations, campfires and more. Join us August 10-12 at Good Earth Village!
Q&A - community camp information
Is this just for families? No! Community camp is open to our entire Gloria Dei community. It’s a great opportunity for us to gather together and there are activities for people of all ages.
Can I come to community camp if I’m not a member of Gloria Dei? Can I bring a friend? Absolutely! This is a time for us to enjoy the outdoors and gather as a community - including all of our extended community.
Where do I sleep? How does housing work for the weekend? There are lots of housing options available - everything from camping (tent or electric sites) to the hotel style of Log Lodge. When you register, indicate your top three locations in the form. Housing is available on a first come first served basis, so register early! However, please let us know if there are special needs, especially health concerns, that might require one spot over another.
How much does it cost to go to community camp? The basic costs for community camp are lodging and meals. Meals range from $20-$35/person for the weekend (ages 3 and under are free), and lodging is anywhere from $40-275 per option/family. In addition, a non-refundable $35 registration fee is required to hold your spot, and full payment is due July 6th. If you would like to attend Community Camp and finances are an issue, contact us and we will work to find a solution together.
When do I need to register? Registration is open beginning Monday, April 30, and will close on July 6. After filling out the form, visit our Vanco Page (or mail a check to church) to pay your registration fee and complete registration. Remember, housing is available on a first come first served basis, so sign up early to secure your spot!
What do we eat while we’re at camp? Meals are provided by Good Earth Village on Saturday (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) as well as on Sunday morning before worship. If you have special dietary concerns, please let us know so we can accommodate.
What do we do while we’re at camp? There are a wide variety of activities from group discussions and games to fishing and laser tag. Join in these activities (or not) as you’d like - we want this weekend to be enjoyable and restful for everyone! See our schedule booklet from 2017 for an idea of the types of activities we offer.

Hear from others - why we love community camp
"My family and I love the relaxing atmosphere. We only knew a few people the first time we went and my boys asked that I didn't leave them alone at all during the weekend. But everyone made us feel so welcome. It only took them an hour to relax and join in on all the fun things to do. We had a great time. My kids' favorite thing was the laser tag. I actually love playing laser tag as well. The food and snacks were also great!" - Heather
"Last year was our first family camp, and we had a blast. It was wonderful to get to know other families from the church, to have quiet time in meditation, to be in nature, and to worship outside together. It was a very fun and relaxing time." -Amy
"I loved getting to know others better, meeting new people, discovering new ideas, and an opportunity to chill and relax." -Wendy
