Middle School Youth Coordinator (Part Time)

JOB TITLE: Middle School Youth Coordinator (Part Time – 30 hours per week)

JOB SUMMARY: Collaborate on strategic goals for the Children, Youth, and Family ministry team, plan and strategize programming for all Middle School youth activities, educate, train, and support volunteers, and execute the leadership of all Middle School youth activities. In this role, Middle School is defined as 6th-8th grade.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A personal relationship with God
  • 1-2 years of experience working with Middle School youth
  • Communicates well with others
  • Relates to both parents and youth alike, especially in their faith journey
  • A collaborative, team oriented approach
  • A positive, hard working attitude
  • Supports the greater mission of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:

  • Collaborate weekly (and throughout the planning process) with the CYF team to strategize programming and goals.
  • Train and support all Middle School volunteers throughout their time with our youth.
  • Empower parents to connect with the broader mission of Gloria Dei.
  • Gather curriculum, plan creative delivery methods, communicate the details of each event, and implement plans for Middle School youth ministry including:

– Weekly Wednesday Night Confirmation Programming (September-March)

– Weekend or Full Day Retreats for each grade (Once a year, per grade)

– Vacation Bible School Support (June)

– Assistant to High School Youth Coordinator (September-May)

– Leader of Middle School Yearly Summer Mission Trip (including orientation, training, and support of Adult Leaders)

– Overall Support of other CYF Initiatives
